Cheviot Wool Throw - Burnt Orange
Cheviot Wool Throw - Burnt Orange
Description
Using renowned sheep farmer Joyce Campbell's Cheviot wool, we have created two throws that reflect her farmed landscape. Joyce works hard to produce top quality North Country Cheviots, but also to protect and enhance the land at Armadale Farm.
Armadale Farm is a 6,000 acre hill farm in Sutherland Scotland and having visited and taken photos of the heather and peat, these colours were used in the design of the tweed and throws.
Armadale Farm is within The Flow Country which has just been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Flow Country, is a vast blanket bog, a type of habitat that is very rare but a crucial defence against climate change as it stores more carbon than all of the UK’s forests and woodlands combined.
And one of these throws was used for the unveiling of the plaque, by the King, commemorating The Flow Country becoming the world’s first peatland heritage site.
Details
The throws are approx. 2 metres by 1.5 metres.
This listing is for the Burnt Orange colour way.
