How We Work

With Farmers

John and Maria farm in the Lake District National Park so they have direct knowledge of the wool industry at ground level. How we work is not just about paying a better price for the wool we buy, but developing long-lasting relationships based on trust and respect.

We currently buy from around 35-40 farmers. This might include a drive up to the north of Scotland to collect fleece, a Zoom call with British Wool and the Portland Sheep Breed Society to discuss the logistics of gathering this rare breed wool from multiple farms, or turning up on shearing day to help sort and pack fleeces.

How We Work

With Brands

We are here to help brands navigate a way of working that can include British wool in their collections. Zoe, with her Phd in British sheep breed wool characteristics, is in her element working with brands at this deep level of under- standing the right breed for the right product.

We have recently supported Glencroft, Oubas and Modern Artisans. We are currently working with Fashion Roundtable to build content for The British Wool Revival website (launching soon) that will support brands find their perfect manufacturing partners.

How We Work

Education/Partners

Education is the backbone of our business. We are all eager to share our areas of expertise with the main aim of getting people to fall back in love with British wool. Individually or as a team, we are invited to speak at events, panel discussions, podcasts and in print media. We also host on-farm fibre days for UK and International wool enthusiasts.

We have created strong relationships with other organisations including British Wool, Fashion Roundtable, Dumfries House and Fibreshed UK. We believe in the strength of sharing within a community, like any healthy ecosystem.
